Dark horse is a term used to describe a little-known person or thing that emerges to prominence, especially in a competition of some sort or a contestant that seems unlikely to succeed.The film centers on a thirtysomething man (Gelber) in arrested development who lives with his parents (Walken and Farrow), reluctantly works for his father and avidly collects toys. He seeks out a thirtysomething woman (Blair) in arrested development in an attempt to shed the "dark horse" status in his family and finally accomplish something.
Abe, a thirty-something man in arrested development, lives with his
parents, collects toys, and works in the family business. However, when
he meets Vi, a 30-something who has moved back in with her folks after a
failed literary career, Abe sets out to shed the "dark horse" status in
his family by marrying her
